You can delete your Shazams on the Shazam app and Apple Music if you’re no longer into them. Continue reading to find out how.
Why Delete Your Shazams?
There are several reasons why you’d want to delete your Shazams. Perhaps you listened to a song and didn’t like the message. After listening to it carefully, maybe you figured it just isn’t your vibe.
Or, you loved it at some point, but TikTok made you hate it eventually. (We know how that feels—TikTok sure knows how to ruin a good song.)
If you no longer like a song, you can remove it from your Shazam history and Shazam’s dedicated Apple Music playlist to prevent it from cluttering those areas. There’s no point in keeping songs you have no intentions of listening to again, anyway.
How to Delete Your Shazams on the Shazam App
Your first course of action should be to remove Shazams from the app. Here’s how to get started:
Open Shazam on your phone. If you’re on iPhone, swipe up the screen to reveal your history. On Android, tap Library in the top left corner of your screen. Now tap the Shazams tab. Shazam will show you a list of the songs you’ve searched, starting with your most recent Shazams. Find the track you want to delete on the list or look for it using the search bar at the top of the screen. Once you find it, swipe the song to the left and tap the Delete button. You can also tap the three-dot menu on the right side of the song and select Remove from My Music.
If you want to remove more than one song, you can delete Shazams in bulk to save time. To do this, o to your Shazams as we previously showed you. Next, tap Select in the top-right corner. Check the circle next to each song you want to get rid of, and then tap the trash can icon in the bottom-right corner.
There are multiple ways to discover music with Shazam on your iPhone. Fortunately, deleting a song is just as simple.
How to Delete Your Shazams on Apple Music
Now moving on to the final step—deleting songs on Apple Music.
This step is necessary because removing a song from your Shazam history doesn’t automatically remove it from your My Shazam Tracks playlist on Apple Music—you have to do that manually.
Follow the steps below to get started.
Open Apple Music on your iPhone. Tap the Library button at the bottom of the screen. Tap Playlists, then scroll down and tap My Shazam Tracks. Find the song you want to get rid of and tap the three-dot menu next to it. Tap Remove from Playlist.
If you want to delete all your Shazams or remove the playlist from your library altogether, tap the three-dot menu on the My Shazam Tracks playlist page and select Delete from Library. That’s it—your Shazam playlist will no longer appear in your Apple Music library.
Bear in mind that you will only have the My Shazam Tracks playlist on your Apple Music account if you’ve synchronized and connected Shazam with Apple Music. If not, the playlist won’t appear in your Apple Music library.
Unclutter Your Shazam History
Now that you know how to delete Shazams from the platform and on Apple Music, you can make way for your new favorite songs that align with your current interests.
