Can You Delete Locations From Maps?
You can delete locations by using the Google Maps desktop site or from a mobile device running Android or iOS. No matter which device you use, make sure you’re logged into the Google account you wish to delete addresses from.
To delete a saved address from Google Maps, follow these steps:
Desktop
The process of deleting an address is a bit different on desktop compared to mobile devices. Here is the process for deleting an address on the desktop version of Google Maps:
Navigate to Google Maps. Click the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) in the top-left corner. Click Your Places. Click the vertical dotted line to the right of a list item and select Edit list. Find the address you’d like to delete and click the X symbol.
Mobile (iOS and Android)
The process of deleting an address is the same on both iOS and Android devices, so the instructions have been grouped together.
Open the Google Maps app. Click the Saved tab from the horizontal menu at the bottom of the screen. Click the vertical dotted line to the right of a list item and select Edit list. Find the address you’d like to delete and tap the X symbol.
How Do I Remove a Shared Location From Google Maps?
To remove a location from Google Maps, follow the instructions below for your chosen device. Note this process also includes the deletion of map activity such as addresses you’ve searched for, but not necessarily visited.
Desktop
Navigate to Google Maps. Click the three horizontal lines in the top-left corner. Click Maps activity. Select Delete. Again, the process of removing a location from Google Maps is identical on iOS and Android platforms. Follow the instructions below to remove a location on either platform.
